WHEN THE TEMPTER COMES
God does not tempt anyone just like the bible has stated. But for every one that has a destiny to fulfill, there will certainly be temptation from the evil one (Satan). He tempted our Lord Jesus three times just at the start of His ministry. He later showed up several times through the Pharisees and Sadducees with questions and accusations and finally at the crucifixion. The life and ministry of Jesus Christ is the greatest example of a fulfilled life as regards destiny fulfillment.
A BIBLICAL EXAMPLE
Moses: Here is a man who was noted to be the meekest man on earth (Num 12:3). Like no other person, he was so close to God that He could speak face to face with God. At different times God would have destroyed the people of Israel but for Moses who would fast forty day and night to turn away God’s wrath. Moses battled with different temptations, and he escaped on many occasions but the tempter took notice of his weakness which was anger. Where do you think this anger came from and was the anger residing inside the same meek heart of Moses? Let’s take a look at the scriptures.
Simeon and Levi had angrily gone to carry out what is close to genocide after their sister had been raped at Sechem (Gen 34). Here is what Jacob had to say on his dying bed over the house of Simeon and Levi where Moses came from:
5 Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations. 6 O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall. 7 Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel. Gen 49:5-7 KJV
Can you now trace the life of Moses from his ancestors and within the words of Jacob? This inherited anger was hidden in Moses’ blood until the final knock out when the tempter realized Moses was just about to enter into the promised land and rest.
The life you live can be traced to the kind of words that has been activated over your life.
At one time or the other of your life, the tempter would show up to find occasion or ground to tempt you so you can miss the original plan of God for your life. However, he is going to search for any weakness he can use to remote you to sin against God so you would miss your place in destiny.
As for Jesus Christ, at a point, the tempter asked Him to bow to him and he will have the glory of this world which is temporary. Hope you know Jesus came to the earth to die for sinners and was given the eternal glory in heaven and earth and even beneath the earth. Here is one big reason Jesus overcame the temptations, He was conceived and born of the Spirit without the sinful nature after the natural reproductive process.
Let me state here that the sinful nature, sometimes hidden, serves as remote sensor to the tempter’s control. For someone, it’s anger and for another person, it could be lust. Once the tempter can sight any of such in a destiny child, he would come at different stages of life to tempt him to fall from the original plan of God. Finally, here is Jesus testimony about the tempter in my own words, “… when the tempter came to befall me, he found nothing in me he could remote” (John 14:30).
There are weakness you may never believe are still present in your life until time and place changes around you. For instance, you may not realize you have love for money until you come across some opportunities and you may not recognize your level of pride until you are promoted or sanctioned. The same with lust and other weaknesses.
Conclusion: On the way to fulfill your God-ordained destiny, the tempter will surely show up especially when you are close to your fulfillment. The last and the strongest weapon he uses to bring down children of purpose is the hidden weakness or problems within the blood.
It would be needful for you to repent of your sins, accept and confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior before you take the following prayers.
Prayer:
- Dear father of glory, search me and uproot every hidden thing the tempter can use to remote me against your will for my life.
- Every hidden seed of destruction in me should catch fire in Jesus name.
- I command every hidden sickness and diseases in me to come out in Jesus name.
- Holy Spirit of God, replace my weaknesses with your strength in Jesus name.
